Wen Jiabao, premier of the State Council, chaired the executive meeting of the State Council on 29 th, and decided to make amendments to the provisions on administrative penalties for price violations.

The meeting pointed out that recently, the State Council has issued some policies and measures to stabilize the general level of consumer prices and safeguard the basic livelihood of the masses, and achieved preliminary results.

Raising eurozone forecast for economic growth this year


The European Commission predicted on the 29 day that the euro zone economy will grow by 1.7% this year, even though it is hit by the debt crisis. The pace of recovery is faster than the previous forecast of 0.9%.
